One of the greatest shows of all time. Of. All. Time.
The Cosby Show
On this day, 20 years ago, after 8 seasons and 197 episodes, The Cosby Show aired the final episode on NBC. I want share 10 facts about the show that you might not know.
1. Bill Cosby was initiated into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity through the Beta Alpha Alpha Chapter in White Plains, New York during the 5th season of The Cosby Show.
2. Phylicia Rashad (Clair Huxtable) was pregnant throughout much of the third season. As a result, her scenes were greatly reduced and what little she was used in, she had to hide her condition, such as sitting behind a desk.
3. Earle Hyman (Cliff’s father) is only 11 years older than Bill Cosby (Cliff).
4. Ethel Ayler (Clair’s mother) is only 14 years older than Phylicia Rashad (Clair).
5. Phylicia Rashad (Clair) is only 10 years older than Sabrina Le Beauf (Sondra, the eldest Huxtable daughter).
6. 26-year-old Sabrina Le Beauf got the role of Sondra, over 21-year-old Whitney Houston. Le Beauf’s theater experience won her the role. When creating the character of Sondra, the Huxtable’s eldest daughter, it was decided that there should be another child that represented the results of a good upbringing, hence a daughter in college.
7. Rudy was originally going to be a son, but when a suitable boy could not be found, girls were allowed to audition.
8. The character of Cliff Huxtable was ranked first in TV Guide’s list of the 50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time.
9. Bill Cosby insisted that the show be filmed in New York due to his dislike of working in Hollywood.
10. The show was initially rejected by ABC but later picked up NBC where it became a huge success.

Why are so many people so pressed about relationship titles? If you can’t claim that you are in a relationship (for whatever reason) then you don’t need to be in one. Why is everyone so afraid of everything? Why is bitterness and selfishness perpetuating at such a rapid rate? GET. OVER. IT. I hope that this is just a phase and people grow out of it. I pray for my generation.

I think because of the Internet and everyone’s obsession with celebrity and paparazzi and blogs and phones being hacked, we have an incredible amount of access to other people’s lives. People now expect more than a performance. They expect to know what you do and what you’re wearing and who you’re fucking and what you ate that day and what time you took a shit… [When I was at co-star Jennifer Lawrence’s house] she was like, ‘Can we just stay home and watch TV all night? I can’t leave my house.’ And I was like, ‘Jen, I’m not going to bullshit you. This isn’t going away tomorrow.’

I Don’t Care About Your McNuggets
Instagram. Popular photo sharing app. Facebook recently bought it for $1 BILLION. Why do people post pictures of their $1.29 McNuggets from McDonald’s on the shit!? Who the FUCK cares about your McNuggets!? Eat that shit and then shit it out in a few hours like a normal person. [I will admit, I do take pictures of my food at times, but only good shit, like the Cajun chicken pasta from Chili’s. And I keep those pics to myself just so I can relive the culinary goodness at will. I have my own personal app for that, judge me.] Posting pictures of your McNuggets in no way makes you look cool, if that’s what you were going for. It makes you look stupid. You’re not even eating anything good! McDonald’s has the worst fucking chicken nuggets ever!
Are we that starved for attention? Do we need to feel relevant that badly? Accept the fact that you’re boring. Because if you’re posting pictures of nasty ass chicken nuggets, dammit, you are boring. And that’s fine. It be like that sometimes. You clearly have the time to change it if all you have to do in life is eat McDonald’s chicken nuggets. Get a hobby (other than eating chicken nuggets).
